  • What can I see on the main dashboard page?
On the left hand side you can view a list panel of all the assets currently tracked. On the right hand side you see a map with asset marker pins, indicating the location of each asset.
  • How do I see an asset in detail?
Choose any of the asset marker pins on the map, or from the list panel on the left hand side of the screen to view an individual asset’s overview page. This page allows you to perform a variety of action settings to any of the assets you have within your account.
  • How do I change the name of the asset marker pin?
Select the asset marker pin (on the map or from the list panel). Select Details in the asset panel to see more details. You can edit the Name of the asset marker and upload an image to replace the pin on the map. Note that the Device ID and device number are fixed and cannot be changed.
  • Can I change the image of the asset marker pin on the map?
Yes. Select the asset marker pin (on the map or from the list panel). Select Details in the asset panel to see more details. You can upload an image to replace the pin on the map. Note that the device number is fixed and is not replaced by the new image.
  • How do I add assets onto the map?
Assets will be added to your account by your Tough Tracker distributor. You will be able to see them on the map once they have been logged into the system. It will be your responsibility to manage their settings and perform any changes if required.
  • How do I change the contact details for the tracker?
Select the asset marker pin (on the map or from the list panel). Select Contacts & Notifications in the asset panel to edit existing contact details or create a new contact.
  • How do I see where the asset has been?
Select the asset marker pin (on the map or from the list panel). Select History in the asset panel to see more details. Specify the start and end dates, to see historical check-in dates and times, notable events and location of the asset.
  • How do I adjust the reporting frequency of the tracker?
Select the asset marker pin (on the map or from the list panel). Select Device Settings in the asset panel to adjust either the regular check-in interval or the alarm frequency. Please note that increasing the frequency of reporting will reduce the battery life of the tracker.
  • Can the tracker check-in routinely without sending its location data?
Yes. Select the asset marker pin (on the map or from the list panel). Select Device Settings in the asset panel and choose if the tracker sends location data with each check-in. Please note that sending location data with every routine check in will reduce the battery life of the tracker.
  • How do I switch on notifications from the tracker?
You can choose to receive notifications from the tracker by email or my text message, if the tracker battery is low, if there is a geofence breach, or if the device is being vandalised and is under attack. To switch on these settings, select the asset marker pin (on the map or from the list panel) and then select Contacts & Notifications in the asset panel to set up your preferences.
  • Will I automatically receive a notification if there is a geofence breach?
No. You must switch on this notification for each tracker.
  • Will I automatically receive a notification if the tracker battery is low?
No. You must switch on this notification for each tracker.
  • Will I automatically receive a notification if the tracker is being vandalised?
No. You must switch on this notification for each tracker.
  • How can I search through all tracked assets?
Select the Search shortcut icon from the Side Bar Icons (in the column on the far left-hand side of the main dashboard page), to reveal the full list of tracked assets in the list panel.
  • How can I see all the alarm notifications that have occurred?

  • How can I generate an activity report for all tracked assets?
Select the Download shortcut icon from the Side Bar Icons (in the column on the far left-hand side of the main dashboard page), to automatically generate an Excel (CSV) file that you can export. This activity report lists all tracked assets by: Asset Name, Location, Set-Up Date, Geo-fence Status, Location, Battery Life.
  • How can I manage the main dashboard?
Select the Manage shortcut icon from the Side Bar Icons (in the column on the far left-hand side of the main dashboard page), and then navigate to the main mapping page or to personal details page, where you can adjust and save settings.
  • Why do some asset markers appear as black pins and others appear as blue circles?
A black pin indicates the location of a specific asset marker, identified by its tracker number as shown on the black pin. A blue circle indicates that there is more than one marker in the same location at the chosen map resolution. The number within the blue circle identifies the number of trackers in that location.
  • How do I see individual asset markers if they appear as a blue circle?
A blue circle indicates that there is more than one marker in the same location at the chosen map resolution. Increase the map resolution by zooming in. As you zoom in and see more close-up detail, the individual asset markers no longer appear to overlap. The blue circle is automatically replaced by black pins, which indicate the location of the specific asset markers.
  • How do I see information related to an individual asset tracker shown on the map?
Click on any asset marker displayed on the map. The chosen asset is automatically centred on the page in the map view, its current address appears as a pop-up above the asset marker, and the Main Side Bar Menu reveals the settings of the chosen asset tracker.
  • What information is available in the Main Side Bar Menu?
The Main Side Bar Menu is the place where you can perform settings changes and find information about Asset Location, Last Check-In, Details, Asset History, Alarm Settings, and Contacts & Notifications – for the asset tracker you have chosen.
  • What is a geofence?
A geofence is a virtual geographic boundary that you define on the map that is linked to the specific tracker. The tracked asset should remain within this designated area. If the tracked asset strays beyond the geofence, it is considered to be a geofence breach and the tracker goes into alarm mode. You can choose to be notified of any geofence breach.
  • Does every tracker have a geofence?
You have the option to create a geofence for every tracked asset if you wish, but you have to set it up and it may not be needed for every asset.
  • How do I create a geofence?
From the Main Side Bar Menu, select Geofence Disarmed. A highlighted area in blue will appear on the map to indicate the location and size of the geofence for you to set up. Click and drag this shape until the area is the right size and in the right location. Click Arm to set your chosen geofence. The geofence has now been set up but is not yet activated.
  • What are geofence notifications?
If or when the tracked asset moves beyond an active geofence, the tracker will automatically sends messages to alert you. These messages are sent to an email address and/or to a mobile phone that you choose in Notification Settings from the Main Side Bar Menu. You cannot set up a geofence without setting up how you would like to receive potential alerts.
  • Can I set a geofence without setting up notifications?
No. The tracker automatically sends alert messages to you if there is a geofence breach, and you need to tell the tracker where to send these messages when you set up a geofence.
  • Is the geofence active as soon as I set it?
No. Once you have set up a geofence, its status changes from Geofence Disarmed to Geofence Armed (Pending) and the area you have specified on the map changes in colour correspondingly from blue (set up) to orange (pending). You do not need to take any further action. The pending status will automatically convert to Geofence Armed and the area specified on the map changes in colour correspondingly from orange (pending) to green (armed).
  • How do I change a geofence?
You can change the area and location of a geofence, or disarm it entirely, at any time. Simply click on Geofence Armed in the Main Side Bar Menu and make the changes.
  • How do I remove a geofence?
You can remove a geofence by disarming it, at any time. Simply click on Geofence Armed in the Main Side Bar Menu and select Disarm from the geofence options that appear on the map.
  • What happens if a tracked asset moves beyond its geofence?
The asset tracker automatically goes into alarm mode. It is a silent alarm: no sound is generated by the tracker. Instead, you will be notified of the geofence breach depending on the device settings you have chosen. You can switch off these alerts whenever you like by disarming the geofence.
